The Thrashing Dance Floor

Sabine Jakobs, Personal Development, Motivational Quotes,

This dance floor is an invitation for discovery, seeking answers. A luring voice. Looking for and through the lenses of our perceived truths.

Be warned – it’s an arduous dance floor.

On the Thrashing Dance Floor, our awareness may be identified merely to be rejected by the pains of discovery. It’s a battle on a dance floor of the unknown. We may hear a different beat, but fall back into the comfort of the old song.

The floors are unstable, the sidelines unreliable, boundaries unpredictable.

This is the RECKONING between who we were taught to be, verses our true self.  We consider the soul, contemplate its existence with mystical observation.

For me, I consistently vacillated between the torment of awareness and the ache for an unidentified relief. I battled in search for answers, attempting to rescue parts of me that were long buried.  I suffered through the discovery process. Ominous heartache, very dark nights while uncovering the stories that kept me tethered to the past, defined by my declared unworthiness.

This dance floor will tell the story of how you became lost. The grooves set to keep you small, unnoticed, unsafe, unworthy. All the separated parts, disassociated within ourselves.

You discover what happened to you instead of wondering what’s wrong with you. You’ll need to reconcile that life doesn’t happen to you; it happens for you.

You discover your triggers, your auto response. This opens the door to freedom, to change your grooves from self-hatred to self-love. These triggers were your old protective mechanism that kept you alive. You are safe now.

When things get dark, find the light of from your disco ball, your reason why. Reach out, get help. Don’t do this dance floor alone. Find tools and practice radical self-care.

Discovery and inquiry into yourself is a worthwhile practice. Brings you closer to home.

Do the work – this takes time.
